Sime Darby Property appoints Hamidah Naziadin, Lisa Lim as independent directors


Datuk Hamidah Naziadin was appointed as independent and non-executive directors of Sime Darby Property Bhd. She has over 30 years of extensive strategic human resources and leadership experience in the financial services sectors across Malaysia and ASEAN.

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Hamidah Naziadin and Dr Lisa Lim Poh Lin have been appointed as independent and non-executive directors of Sime Darby Property Bhd with effect from Friday.

Sime Darby Property chairman, Rizal Rickman Ramli said their appointments will add to the breadth of diverse expertise to drive the company’s future aspirations.

“The board will benefit from their vast knowledge and unique perspectives mainly in human capital development and sustainability in guiding the company through its transformation journey. We

look forward to Hamidah and Lisa’s valued contributions to the board,” he said.

Hamidah has over 30 years of extensive strategic human resources (HR) and leadership experience in the financial services sectors across Malaysia and Asean.

She spent an illustrious career with CIMB Group as its group chief people officer, leading strategies to attract, develop and retain talent, cultivated an agile workforce to prepare for the future of work, and enhanced the end-to-end employee experience via technology innovation.

Her key achievements included strategising the resource integration in successful mergers and acquisitions within Malaysia and across Asean and Asia Pacific regions, as well as implementing award-winning strategic HR programmes.

She was also the CEO of CIMB Foundation from May 2016 to October 2020 where she led the corporate social responsibility agenda of the company with its internal and external stakeholders, focused on enhancing community development, sports and education including advocating financial literacy amongst the youth.

Hamidah is currently an independent director of Maxis Bhd and Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd. She also sits on the Board of Majlis Sukan Negara Malaysia.

Dr Lisa Lim Poh Lin was appointed as independent and non-executive directors of Sime Darby Property Bhd.She  is currently a Partner and Fund Manager of Prusik Investments Management LLP.

Sime Darby Property said Lim (pic, above) has over 20 years of global experience in management consulting, academic research, and investment management, and is currently a partner and fund manager of Prusik Investments Management LLP.

She brings a wealth of expertise from her previous role as a fund manager at Columbia Threadneedle in London, where she was also the Head of Global Telecoms Research.

She started her career as an Investment Banking Analyst in Morgan Stanley Dean Witter prior to her role as an associate with The Boston Consulting Group.

Before joining the investment management industry, Lim was in academic research, where she was an assistant professor at the National University of Singapore.

She was a recipient of the Malaysian Public Services Department scholarship and the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Full scholarships. She is also a CFA Charter holder and is currently an investment committee member of the CFA UK.

Sime Darby Property group managing director, Datuk Azmir Merican said the group welcomed Hamidah and Lim’s valuable experience which will provide Sime Darby Property a different dimension to support its business’ growth, as it expands in the real estate development industry.
