Trading ideas: Southern Cable Group, Telekom Malaysia, MAA

KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks that might see trading interest on Friday include Southern Cable Group, Telekom Malaysia, MAA, Malaysia Steel Works, Paragon Globe and Ocean Vantage, according to JF Apex Research.

The research house said in its daily highlights report that the companies could see movement in their share price following recent corporate announcements.

Among stocks to watch are Southern Cable Group Bhd after bagging a RM30.38mil award from Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) for the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of rectifier systems.

MAA Group Bhd has emerged as a substantial shareholder of KNM Group Bhd, after acquiring a 7.01% stake in the latter yesterday.

Malaysia Steel Works (KL) Bhd (Masteel) has signed an underwriting agreement with M&A Securities Sdn Bhd for the former’s rights issue with warrants exercise to raise RM89.41mil.

Paragon Globe Bhd is exploring a potential collaboration with Selangor government-owned Selgate Corporation Sdn Bhd to develop private specialist hospitals.

Ocean Vantage Holdings Bhd has bagged a contract for the development of Heart & Mind programme for a unit of Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd
