Iris extends production contract for Senegal smart identity cards

KUALA LUMPUR: Iris Corp Bhd has announced a contract extension with Senegal's Interior Ministry for the supply and production of three million new biometric smart national identity and voter cards.

It said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that the contract is valued at FCFA10.5bil (about RM80.39mil) and set for a duration of two years commencing May 3, 2021.

"The Contract will contribute positively to the earnings of IRIS during its tenure," said Iris.

At midday, shares in Iris were down one sen or 3.51% to 27.5 sen a share on the back of 8.14 million shares traded.
