AirAsia Group retains target to raise up to RM2.5b

AAGB had targeted to raise RM1bil in new domestic bank loans, but has so far tentatively only secured RM500mil, with the remaining RM500mil still being reviewed by other banks and clearly taking a lot longer than expected.

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Group Bhd (AAGB) is retaining its target to raise RM2bil to RM2.5bil in new equity and debt capital this year, CGS-CIMB Equities Research said.

In its research note on Friday it said the low-cost carrier has so far raised only a small portion of this target from two private placements, that is RM336mil.
