NEW YORK: Traders and shippers are increasingly nervous about the possibility of a shortage of fuel in the eastern United States almost two days after the shutdown of a major pipeline following a cyberattack.
Colonial Pipeline said Sunday that it is still developing a plan for restarting the nation’s largest fuel pipeline and would only bring it back online when “it is safe to do so, and in full compliance with the approval of all federal regulations.” All of the major segments of the Colonial system remain offline, with some smaller so-called lateral lines between specific terminals and delivery points in service, the company said.
