Tech stocks soar on shift towards digital services


Among the tech stocks, Globetronics Technology Bhd rose 15 sen to RM3.10, Inari Amertron Bhd added 6 sen to close at RM2.97, Unisem (M) Bhd gained 44 sen to RM7.83, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd surged RM1.48 to RM30.20 and Elsoft Research Bhd closed up one sen to 99 sen.

PETALING JAYA: Technology stocks have kicked-off 2021 strongly, dominating the gainers list on Bursa Malaysia in spite of a negative environment where investors continue to be overwhelmed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The rise in technology stocks was reflected in the Bursa Malaysia Technology Index, which rose 2.62 points to 78.06 points yesterday, outperforming the benchmark FBM KLCI, which fell 17.49 points to 1,609.52.
