Dagang Net eScroll to verify academic and training certificates

Zainal 'Abidin said the authentication of certificates is done by scanning the QR code thus making the verification process simple and transparent.

KUALA LUMPUR: Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd is using blockchain technology to create an innovative platform called Dagang Net eScroll, to authenticate academic and training certificates.

Its blockchain technologies head Zainal 'Abidin Mohd Jais said the platform could improve the current system which could take weeks or months for sharing or issuing official certificates.

"Every certificate will be tagged with a QR code linked to the blockchain - a secure, immutable and incorruptible database. Issuing institutions keep a register of certificates on the blockchain represented by the QR code," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Zainal 'Abidin said the authentication of certificates is done by scanning the QR code thus making the verification process simple and transparent.

He said Dagang Net eScroll could create assurance for both graduates and future employers in verifying candidates’ credentials and transformed the way academic credentials are stored, tracked and shared as well as allowing individuals to possess and share their own official records.

"Digital records registered on a blockchain are all cryptographically signed and tamper-proof which can eliminate forgery, ” he said.

He said the technology allowed education providers, employers, students and others to issue official certificates that supply proof of graduation in a fast and efficient manner.

Dagang Net eScroll is available through https://escroll.dagangnet.com/ and mobile application on Google Play Store. - Bernama
