Maybank demands payment from Hyflux unit within seven days


PETALING JAYA: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has issued a letter of demand to Hyflux Ltd seeking immediate payments of S$509.1mil and US$44.5mil for term-loan facilities and cash cover for contingent liabilities, according to the latter’s statement on the Singapore Stock Exchange.

Hyflux said Maybank is seeking payment within seven days or by April 30 from its subsidiary Tuaspring, which would also include interest and legal costs on a full indemnity basis.
