KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd
(MAHB) has appointed retired Federal Court judge Tan Sri Zainun Ali as chairman to succeed Tan Sri Syed Zainol Anwar Ibni Syed Putra Jamalullail.
Zainun’s appointment is effective Jan 18, the airport operator said in a statement today.
“The group and its board of directors would like to express its appreciation and gratitude to Tan Sri Syed Zainol Anwar for his invaluable contribution during his tenure with the company,” it said.
Syed Zainol has held the position since June 7, 2017 until his departure on Thursday.
“During his tenure, Tan Sri Syed Zainol Anwar has brought the company to greater heights in achieving the financial performance, and quality of services and operations,” MAHB said.
“He has been very committed in ensuring that corporate governance and integrity are observed throughout the organisation.”
Meanwhile, Zainun has held various positions in the legal and judicial service until her retirement on Oct 4, 2018.
Last month, she was appointed as a director at Permodalan Nasional Bhd.
