PETALING JAYA: Felda Investment Corp Sdn Bhd (FIC) has clarified that £34mil (RM190.11mil), inclusive of applicable taxes, was paid for two plots of land which house the Felda House and Grand Felda House.

In a statement yesterday, FIC said that during a webcast on Oct 26, Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice-president Rafizi Ramli had alleged that FIC had been defrauded of £14mil (RM78.28mil), as the audited financial statements of FIC for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2014 disclosed that the land price was £34mil.

Rafizi had provided a document which stated that the price of one plot of land, where Grand Felda House is built on, was £20mil (RM111.83mil).

“FIC wishes to reiterate that it is the owner of two companies in British Virgin Islands, namely, FIC London Hotel (Private) Ltd and FIC Global Ltd, which in turn owns The Park City Grand Plaza Kensington, Felda House and Grand Felda House.

“The new FIC board of directors wishes to assure the public that it is committed to the enhancement of FIC’s business activities and its corporate governance processes,” said FIC, adding that it trusts that the distortion of facts and unsubstantiated allegations made by certain quarters to cause distress to the public would cease.
