SPAD developing applications to promote public transport usage

SPAD will also be implementing a one-card payment system for all public transport in 2019.

PETALING JAYA: Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) is using technology to achieve 40% public transport commuting trips by 2030, compared with only 20% at present, according to its head of NKRA projects division Ahmad Rahdi Maarof.

In a Smart Cities Conference organised by the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the German embassy, Ahmad Rahdi said SPAD is developing different applications (apps) for different needs and functions. It is expected to launch an app known as Journey Planner App by the end of this year.
