BUTTERWORTH: Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PetDag), the  domestic arm of Petronas, aims to increase the number of commercial customers through its newly-launched digital delivery note (DN) system.

Petronas, is the first oil company in Malaysia to go-green and digital, with the launch of this system under PBD’s Advanced Terminal Operations Management (ATOM) initiative.

PetDag supply and distribution division general manager Mohd Shobri Abu Bakar said the introduction of the digital DN would be rolled out in stages to all 17 PDB fuel terminals, nationwide, in the first quarter of 2017.

“Besides reducing paper usage, we believe the new system would significantly reduce operational cost of our terminals and attract new customers,” he told reporters after PetDag managing director and CEO Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus, launched the system in Prai Fuel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas Terminal here today.

Currently, PetDag has over 2,000 commercial customers, with about 900 already converted to the digital system. The remaining would migrate by year-end.

Shobri said PetDag had embarked on an initiative to simplify the operations process and improve cost efficiency.

“This is in line with the group’s efforts to create a cash-generating and cost-competitive culture through greater collaboration with our customers and  stakeholders,” he said.

The new system would improve overall process efficiency with auto refund, auto goods issuance function and an improved record management system, made possible through a secured and centralised digital database accessible from anywhere, anytime.

He added that it was convenient and reduced document storage space for both PetDag and its customers. - Bernama
