Axiata to fund spectrum fees using internal funds


Axiata Group will use proceeds from the Sukuk issuance for general corporate purposes

PETALING JAYA: Axiata Group Bhd will fund its RM816.75mil spectrum fees mainly through internally generated funds and existing sukuk programme.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the telecommunications giant said its unit Celcom Axiata Bhd (Celcom) and Celcom’s unit, Celcom Mobile Sdn Bhd (Celcom Mobile), had accepted the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission’s (MCMC) offer of the 900MHz and 1800MHz spectrum assignment.
