PETALING JAYA: Proton Holdings Bhd has appointed Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar Syed Ali Rethza Albar (pic), the group managing director of DRB-Hicom Bhd, as its new non-executive chairman effective since yesterday.

This was following the resignation of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on March 31. Syed Faisal will also be taking on the role of chairman of Group Lotus plc.
