Nirvana ventures into Vietnam to acquire cemetery operator

Kong: ‘Demand in Asia continues to increase.’

KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong-listed Nirvana Asia Ltd has entered into an agreement to acquire a cemetery operator in Vietnam, marking its first foray into the country.

In a statement yesterday, the integrated death care service provider said its venture into Vietnam would be its sixth country in addition to Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and China where it had a presence. It said the acquisition would further expand the group’s market coverage in Asia, reinforcing Nirvana Asia’s status as the largest integrated death care service provider in the region.
