KUALA LUMPUR: Gunung Capital Bhd has secured a RM164.95mil contract from the Ministry of Defence to provide bus transport services for the National Service (NS) trainee programme.
It said on Monday its unit GPB Corporation Sdn Bhd had received a letter of award and acceptance for the contract which would be from Dec 26, 2014 to Dec 25, 2017.
Gunung Capital will provide passenger transportation for NS trainees and trainers, by bus/coach for 82 NS camps, over nine months per calendar year.
This would involve allocating five 44-seater buses for each of 80 NS camps and eight 25-seater buses for each of two NS camps.
This involved picking up the NS trainees and transporting them to the relevant NS camp. It also includes provision of facilities at the designated pickup point, provision of claimable meal allowances for the trainees, accommodation and meals for the NS trainers, and claimable ferry allowances where applicable.
Upon completion of the National Service program the trainees are transported back to the designated drop-off points.
The scope of service involves transportation of trainees for such activities as community service, shooting training, sports activities, marching training, excursions (trainee gatherings), religious events, administration matters, transportation to hospital/clinics, and any event organised by the state and Federal Government.
