JPMorgan Chase substantial shareholder in Sunway


KUALA LUMPUR: New York-based JPMorgan Chase & Co has emerged as a substantial shareholder in Sunway Bhd with a 5.69% stake.

A filing with Bursa Malaysia showed JPMorgan Chase held 97.94 million shares as at Nov 4.

A recent filing showed Singapore’s GIC Private Ltd had disposed of 150.66 million Sunway Bhd shares in a direct business transaction on Nov 5.

In another filing, the Employees Provident Fund Board had acquired 24.86 million shares on Nov 5. This saw the retirement fund increasing its stake in Sunway to 97.27 million shares or 5.65%.
