Despite calls by corporate governance experts to split the roles of chairman and chief executive officer (CEO), the United States still leads the pack with the most number of executives holding dual positions.
Unlike in Asia and Europe where the majority of executives or directors holds separate positions as chairman and CEOs, in the US things are slightly different. The same executives in corporations in the US chairs board meetings and executes key management decisions and strategies at the same time. The one thing in common that Jamie Dimon, Lloyd Blankfein and Robert Iger has is that they all wear two hats – as chairman and CEO.
