Italian insurer eyes 40% to 50% of MPHB unit


PETALING JAYA: A leading insurer from Italy, which is also one of the top five insurance companies in Europe, is in negotiations with MPHB Capital Bhd to buy a strategic stake in the latter’s unit Multi-Purpose Insurans Bhd (MPIB), sources say.

According to sources, the Italian insurer is currently studying the viability of MPIB to see how the acquisition would fit into its strategic plans in the region.
