PC shipments to decline 8.4% in 2013, tablets rising

KUALA LUMPUR: Global shipment of IT devices are projected to rise 4.5% on-year in 2013 to 2.32 billion units as prices come down in nearly all devices categories from PCs to tablets and mobile phones, IT research company, Gartner Inc, says.

Desktops and notebooks are forecast to decline 11.2% on-year to 303 million units, while mobile phone shipments are projected to grow 3.7% to more than 1.8 billion units.
