Media Prima appoints key personnel

PETALING JAYA: Media Prima Bhd has announced three key appointments to help improve its operational efficiencies.

In a statement, the company said it had appointed Datuk Kamal Khalid as chief operating officer (group shared services), Ahmad Izham Omar as chief executive officer (television networks) and Shareen Ooi Bee Hong as group chief marketing officer, which will take effect on March 1, 2013.

The company said Datuk Kamal joined in May 2009 as Media Prima International’s chief operating officer and in his new role, he would oversee business development, engineering services, airtime management, research, stakeholder management and regulatory affairs, group corporate communications, content acquisition and pay channels.

Izham would lead and oversee Media Prima’s four free-to-air stations, namely TV3, 8TV, ntv7 and TV9, it said.

It added that Shareen would oversee and coordinate integrated marketing and group sales.
