THE introduction of the goods and services tax (GST) – initially slated for the second quarter of next year – has been put off indefinitely because the Government needs more time “to gather feedback from the rakyat”, but it still looks inevitable that the broad-based consumption tax will be part of Malaysia’s economic management strategy.
