AMD Penang invests US$1mil in new flash memory chip production


AMD Penang has invested US$1mil in the production of flash memory units under a new brand name, Spansion, at its facility in the Bayan Lepas free industrial zone. 

The product, which first rolled out from Penang last month, was an initiative by FASL Penang, AMD Inc's joint venture with Fujitsu Ltd.
