Cagayan de Oro drug sting yields ₱748,000 worth of suspected shabu

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY; Anti-narcotics operatives dismantled a local supply link in the city on Wednesday morning, seizing nearly ₱750,000 worth of suspected shabu from a man police identified as a high-value target.

Police identified the 44-year-old suspect only by his alias, “Levi”, who was arrested during a joint buy-bust operation near his residence in Barangay Cugman at around 9.30am.

During the operation, undercover agents seized four plastic sachets containing the illegal drug, weighing approximately 110g and valued at ₱748,000, the Police Regional Office-10 (PRO-10) said.

Regional police intelligence units, local tracker teams and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the operation, which resulted in the suspect’s arrest.

Brig Gen Nestor Babagay Jr, PRO-10 director, commended the task force for the successful apprehension.

Levi is currently detained at the Maharlika Custodial Facility, while the seized drugs have been forwarded to the regional forensic unit in Barangay Patag for examination.

The suspect is expected to face charges of alleged illegal drug sale and possession under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).- Inqurier/ANN
