Bangladesh condemns Houthi attack on Riyadh airport that killed two nationals

DHAKA: Bangladesh has strongly condemned a Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which killed two Bangladeshi nationals and injured several others, many critically, on Saturday (Oct 10).

In a press release issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Bangladesh mission in Riyadh was in contact with Saudi authorities to obtain details of the deceased and injured Bangladeshis and facilitate necessary assistance to those affected.

Bangladesh extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wished a swift and full recovery for all those injured.

“Attacks endangering civilian lives and targeting civilian infrastructure are unacceptable and must cease immediately,” the ministry said.

The government also expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its people following the attack.

Bangladesh called for an immediate end to hostilities, the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis through dialogue and diplomacy to ensure regional peace, security and stability. - The Daily Star/ANN
