NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (Oct 7) visited the residence of former deputy prime minister and BJP stalwart L. K. Advani to seek his blessings on completing 25 years as a head of government.
“Met Advani Ji at his residence and sought his blessings. His decades of public service and contribution to our national life have left a lasting imprint. He has played a pivotal role in strengthening India’s progress,” the Prime Minister said, taking to X.
PM Modi has been serving continuously as a head of government since Oct 7, 2001, first as the chief minister of Gujarat for three terms and then as the prime minister after winning three Lok Sabha elections since 2014.

‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ and ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ were organised in Raipur on Wednesday (Oct 7) to mark the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service as a head of government, with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announcing the construction of ‘Seva Jyoti Sankalp Chowks’ at 38 locations across Chhattisgarh.
Addressing the programme at the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus, Sai also announced that Telibandha Chowk in Raipur would be developed as a ‘Seva Jyoti Sankalp Chowk’.
He said the ‘Sankalp Chowks’ would symbolise public service, nation-building and the resolve to build a developed India, besides inspiring future generations to contribute to the country’s progress.
Sai administered a pledge to public representatives and citizens to actively participate in building a developed India and developed Chhattisgarh.
He then led the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ carrying a torch and flagged off a bike rally. The yatra began from the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University and proceeded to Telibandha Chowk, with a large number of citizens and youth participating.
Addressing the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’, Sai said Narendra Modi had assumed office as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on Oct 7, 2001, completing 25 years of continuous public service as chief minister and prime minister.
He described the journey as one marked by public service, good governance, development and an unwavering commitment to national interests.

He said Prime Minister Modi describes himself as the country’s ‘Pradhan Sevak’ and works with the guiding principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’, keeping in view the aspirations and better future of 140 crore citizens.
Under Shri Modi’s leadership, India has reached new heights across various sectors, and the world is witnessing the country’s growing capabilities and leadership.
He added that the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ is an opportunity to honour the Prime Minister’s commitment to public service and pledge to contribute to building a developed India. He also wished Shri Modi good health and a long life.
Sai said a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is being organised across Chhattisgarh from Sept 17 to Oct 17, during which various programmes related to public service, cleanliness, environmental protection, public welfare and social participation are being held.
He added that at the beginning of the campaign on Sept 17, people across Chhattisgarh lit more than 1.5 crore ‘Ashirwad ke Diye’ and prayed for Prime Minister Shri Modi’s good health and long life.
Through the campaign, citizens across the state are continuing to participate in public service and nation-building.
Chief Minister Sai said Prime Minister Shri Modi has set the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.
It is not merely a government target but a collective resolve of 140 crore Indians, and the country and its people have the capacity and strength to realise it.
Building a developed Chhattisgarh is also necessary for building a developed India. With this vision, the state government has charted the course for development in the coming years through ‘Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision @2047’.
The government is working in a planned manner to bring every region and section of society into the mainstream of development and build a prosperous, self-reliant and developed Chhattisgarh.
He urged citizens to discharge their respective responsibilities with full dedication and contribute to fulfilling the resolve of building a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India.
Chief Minister Sai said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had travelled extensively across Chhattisgarh while discharging various responsibilities before taking charge as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
This, he said, has given Prime Minister Modi a deep understanding of the state’s geographical, social and economic conditions as well as its potential.
He added that whenever discussions are held with Prime Minister Modi on matters related to Chhattisgarh’s development, the state receives support and guidance from him beyond expectations.
Under the Prime Minister’s guidance, Chhattisgarh is connecting with new opportunities for development and continuously strengthening its role in building a developed India.
Referring to his recent visit to Singapore, Sai said Prime Minister Modi’s vision is for Indian states to strengthen their economic and institutional ties with countries across the world and benefit from global opportunities in investment, technology, skills and innovation.
The Union Ministry of External Affairs had selected Chhattisgarh and Haryana to participate in the first ‘Singapore-India Network for Growth (SING) Forum-2026’ held in Singapore.
During his visit, discussions were held with industry leaders, investors and representatives of business federations on investment and partnerships in various sectors.
Sai said India and Singapore share longstanding and strong ties. Discussions with representatives in Singapore made it clear that global confidence in India is growing rapidly under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
He added that the world is looking at India as a major centre of trust, opportunity and development, with states such as Chhattisgarh also benefiting from this.
Chief Minister Sai, referring to Prime Minister Modi’s call of “We will do it”, said the goal of building a developed India is undoubtedly ambitious, but can certainly be achieved through the collective efforts of the people.
He said every citizen has an important role to play in building a developed nation and called upon people to discharge their responsibilities with honesty, dedication and commitment, with a resolve to restore India as a ‘Vishwaguru.’
When every citizen places the national interest above all else while fulfilling their responsibilities, the resolve to build a developed India will certainly be realised.
Lok Sabha MP Brijmohan Agrawal, addressing the gathering, congratulated the people of Chhattisgarh on Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years of public service as a head of government.
He wished Prime Minister Modi good health, happiness and long life and expressed the hope that he continues to serve the country with the same energy.
He also urged citizens to participate enthusiastically in the Seva Jyoti Yatra and contribute to strengthening the resolve of nation-building.
