Sonexay Siphandone elected President of Lao National Assembly, Saleumxay Kommasith made Prime Minister


Dr Sonexay Siphandone has been elected President of the National Assembly.

VIENTIANE: Dr Sonexay Siphandone has been elected President of the National Assembly.

Dr Sonexay, the former Prime Minister, was elected on Monday (Oct 5) morning by the Second Ordinary Session of the National Assembly’s 10th Legislature, succeeding Dr Xaysomphone Phomvihane, who passed away in August.

Saleumxay Kommasith, the former Standing Deputy Prime Minister, has been elected Prime Minister of Laos.

Saleumxay was also elected on Monday morning by the Second Ordinary Session of the National Assembly’s 10th Legislature, which opened on Monday.
