Typhoon Choi-wan moving north-northeast over Marianas; forecast to reach waters near Japan’s Ogasawara Islands by Oct 4 noon


TOKYO: Large, strong Typhoon Choi-wan, also known as Typhoon No. 27, is moving north-northeast over the Mariana Islands at 15 kph as of noon Saturday (Oct 3), with an atmospheric pressure of 965 hectopascals at its center and maximum sustained winds of 180 kph, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

It is forecast to reach waters near the Ogasawara Islands south of Tokyo by Sunday noon. - The Japan News/ANN
