Bringing breast health education closer to communities: Makna gets a big push from new programme

Malaysian homegrown brand Jobbie is scaling its Pink Wobbly Breast Odyssey campaign fourfold this Pink October, rolling out 20,000 limited-edition jars nationwide to bring breast health information closer to Malaysian homes and communities.

Launched in collaboration with Majlis Kanser Nasional (Makna) and Lotus’s Malaysia, the campaign will run from 1 October to 31 December 2026, raising funds in support of Makna. It builds on Jobbie’s first collaboration with MAKNA in 2024, when it introduced 5,000 limited-edition jars.

At the heart of the initiative is the Pink Wobbly Breast Odyssey Jar, a “Container of Hope” featuring illustrated breasts alongside information on common signs and symptoms of breast cancer. The design aims to raise awareness of breast health while making the subject easier to understand and talk about.

Lorence Khoo, Chief Operating Officer of Jobbie, said: “This campaign is deeply personal to me. I lost loved ones to cancer, and one of the hardest things to live with was how little we understood about the disease until it had already become part of our family.”

Makna means ‘meaning’, and for me, that is exactly what this collaboration has become - a way to turn pain into purpose. If this campaign helps another family become more aware, pay closer attention to their health, and act earlier when something does not feel right, then it has achieved something meaningful.”

The campaign helps bring cancer education beyond traditional healthcare settings and closer to the public. The launch, supported by IOI City Mall as venue sponsor, also featured the Makna Awareness Truck, offering interactive AR and VR experiences, along with free breast health consultations and risk assessments at a dedicated centre. These activations will be available at IOI City Mall from 2–4 October 2026.

Nisha Sanita, Head of Division at Makna, said: “The funds raised through this campaign will support our efforts to help cancer patients in need, particularly those with limited financial means. Each purchase contributes to this support, reminding us that even a small act can carry meaning for someone facing cancer. Behind every contribution is a person, a family, and a journey that deserves support.”

Azliza Baizura Azmel, Corporate Services Director of Lotus’s Malaysia, said: “As a retailer that serves communities across Malaysia every day, we have a unique opportunity to help make important health conversations more accessible. Through this campaign, we hope to encourage greater awareness of breast health while giving our customers a simple way to support Makna and stand in solidarity with individuals and families affected by cancer.”

Throughout the three-month campaign from October to December 2026, RM1 from every Pink Wobbly Breast Odyssey Jar sold will go towards Makna, with Jobbie targeting 20,000 jars and a RM20,000 contribution.

The limited-edition jar will be available exclusively at all Lotus’s stores nationwide, while selected locations will also host the (JOBBIE × MAKNA) roadshows featuring campaign activities and limited-edition gifts with purchase, while stocks last.

At these roadshows, members of the public will also be invited to contribute to the Pink Canvas of Hope, adding their own expressions in shades of pink as a symbol of solidarity with women and families affected by breast cancer. The completed canvas will be unveiled at the end of the campaign.

For the record, founded in 2015, Jobbie is a leading Malaysian natural nut butter brand dedicated to crafting wholesome, premium spreads. For more information, visit www.jobbienutbutter.com.
