The local action film, Chelot, continues to create an extraordinary phenomenon and carve its own history in cinemas across the country by successfully collecting an official box office revenue of RM19.5 million.
This outstanding success proves the solid dominance of the works directed by the renowned director Adrian Teh, who continues to hold a special place in the hearts of local film fans through continuous support in theatres. Every ticket purchased and the positive shares from the audience have been the main driving force behind this box office success.
The film Chelot takes the audience into the suspenseful story of a Special Operations Unit officer who, beset by critical financial problems, gets entangled in a weapons smuggling syndicate due to a wrong decision. Now, he is forced to act as an insider and risk everything, including his career, family safety, and his own life, to take down the dangerous syndicate.
The excitement of this film is further driven by the stellar performances of renowned local actors such as Beto Kusyairy, Shukri Yahaya, Shaheizy Sam, Nadhir Nasar, Alicia Amin, Azhan Rani, and Theebaan G, who successfully brought the characters to life and delivered thrilling action scenes on the silver screen.

for the record, the RM19.5 million haul puts Chelot second among the highest-grossing Malaysian films of 2026, behind Tarung: Unforgiven, which has collected RM23.3 million.
Polong is currently third with RM15 million, followed by Bobby Husaini’s Libang Libu with RM14.1 million and Nazifdin Nasrudin’s Malaikat Malam with RM12.2 million, rounding out the top five local films to have crossed the RM10 million mark this year.
Produced by ACT 2 Pictures, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), Astro Shaw, SunStrong Entertainment and Marvellous Culture & Film, Chelot has drawn particular praise for its action sequences, 95 per cent of which were achieved using practical effects rather than CGI.
Its standout set piece is a single-take action sequence recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the longest of its kind in Malaysian cinematic history.
