The country has reported more than 100,000 dengue cases and 77 deaths so far in 2026, according to the tally by the Sri Lankan Health Ministry.
A total of 100,127 dengue cases had been recorded as of Sunday, according to the ministry.
Among the provinces, the Western province recorded 52,562 cases, accounting for 52.5% of the national total.
Gampaha recorded the highest number of cases among districts and reporting units, with 21,234 infections, or 21.21% of the total.
Colombo followed with 19,634 cases, while Kandy reported 7,624.
Monthly figures showed that July recorded the highest number of cases so far this year, with 29,964 infections. — Xinhua
