FUZHOU, China: Three people are missing after a landslide and mudflow at a land-levelling project in east China’s Fujian Province, according to county emergency response authorities, reported Xinhua.
The incident occurred at around 5 pm on Saturday (Sept 26) in Bili Township, Luoyuan County, and as of 11 pm, the three people remained unaccounted for.
So far, two houses have been damaged, according to a statement from the Luoyuan County emergency headquarters.
Six teams comprising 116 professional rescuers were dispatched to search for the missing people and carry out emergency response work.
The road blocked as a result of the incident has since been reopened, according to the statement.
The county will continue search and rescue efforts, guard against secondary disasters, determine the cause of the incident as soon as possible and handle the aftermath, the statement said. - Bernama-Xinhua
