Tantrik allegedly rapes 13-year-old girl brought for faith healing in India's Uttar Pradesh

NEW DELHI: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 55-year-old tantrik who she had been taken to for faith healing in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district, police said on Saturday (Sept 26).

Tantrik arrested, girl sent for medical examination

The accused, identified as Parshuram Yadav, a resident of Itara Milauli village, was arrested near Pawari village on Friday evening, Baberu Circle Officer (CO) Krishnakant Tripathi said, according to the reports.

According to the officer, a woman from the Naraini area had taken her ailing 13-year-old daughter to the tantrik two days earlier for faith healing. During the visit, the accused allegedly raped the girl.

Following the incident, an FIR was registered at Bisanda police station, the CO said.

The girl was sent to a hospital for a medical examination, while further legal proceedings against the accused are underway, police said. - The Statesman/ANN
