On September 16, the Xing Yu Grand Honours × The Shining Award 2026 took place at D Theatre, Hextar World, Petaling Jaya. In conjunction with Malaysia Day, the event brought together corporate leaders, filmmakers, content creators, brands, and partners, focusing on the official launch of VYBE Malaysia, strategic collaborations, award presentations, and the premiere of the film 'The Day We Start Again'.
The event saw many top guests, including the founder of Xing Yu Group and VYBE, Dr Kervis Soo, who delivered the opening speech, while the Chairman of VYBE and Xing Yu Group, Dato Kamil Othman, also delivered a speech.
Dr Kervis said he was honoured to be with friends from the corporate, education, technology, film, and creator community on Malaysia Day to witness the official launch of VYBE. He also expressed his gratitude to the team and partners for their support throughout this journey. He said VYBE hopes to further connect creators, brands, technology, and real content projects, so that various resources can create more collaboration possibilities within the same ecosystem.
VYBE Malaysia and the AI Creator Operating System were then officially introduced on-site. The direction of the platform is not only limited to content publishing but is also expanded to include creator participation, brand collaborations, film content, and AI applications.
Several collaboration ceremonies also took place at the location. Among the parties forming strategic partnerships with VYBE are Lincoln Professional Academy, Yayasan Dato Malaysia, TTT Bullion (M) Sdn Bhd, Monochrome, QR Fashion, AI Robo, and Media Prism, with the scope of collaboration covering education, artificial intelligence, digital assets, media, business, and content ecosystem.
Among them, Monochrome was represented by Jeff Yew, while QR Fashion is represented by Andrew Lim. The collaboration related to Lincoln Professional Academy focuses on the integration of education, creators, and artificial intelligence; the Dato Malaysia Foundation is also collaborating with Xing Yu Group and VYBE. Other partners are also building relationships with the VYBE ecosystem through media, AI applications, digital assets, gold systems, and live streaming businesses.
The award presentation segment related to The Shining Award 2026, TNCSEA Shining Business Award 2026, and Xing Yu Grand Honours 2026 also took place to recognise representatives from various fields including business, creative, entertainment, production, technology, and media. Among the guests were Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr M. Kayveas, Datin Maylene Yong, and Tengku Dato' Dr. Hishammuddin Zaizi.
The recipients of the TNCSEA Shining Business Award 2026 include Thomas, Dato Kamil Othman, Dato Sri Professor (Dr) Tan Fong Fook, Dato Seri Kenta Goh, Clifton Ko Chi-Sum, Yuan Teng, Henn, LOMO Pictures, and Qi AI. The lineup of award recipients includes fields such as corporate, film, content creation, and branding, reflecting the cross-industry nature of the event that night.
In addition to the award guests and the aforementioned recipients of recognition, Tan Sri Jojo, Dato Jeff Kua, Teo Yi Ling, and Aron Koh, as supervising producers, also attended as guests. Che Puan Datin Hezeita Hafidz, wife of Tengku Dato' Dr Hishammuddin Zaizi, also attended the event.
In addition to the platform launch and the award presentation, another important highlight of the evening was the official launch of the film 'The Day We Start Again'. This film is directed by Ryon Lee and is his 11th feature film. The story revolves around a group of individuals with dreams in the film industry, while incorporating reality, low points, choices, and efforts to start anew into the film's narrative.
The lineup of films introduced this time includes Olio Tan, Yuan Teng, Charlene An, and Henn; the behind-the-scenes team includes Dr. Kervis Soo as the producer, Ryon Lee as the director, DY Loh as the executive director, Aron Koh as the supervising producer, and Eelin Ooi as the coordinator. In the special film presentation segment, music videos and related content were showcased before the film team took the stage to meet guests on-site and take photos together.
In a location sharing, Ryon Lee said he hopes 'The Day We Start Again' will touch the hearts of more people when it is completed, especially when someone is at a stage in life that requires the courage to keep moving forward, they can find resonance from the characters and story in the film, and even find an escape that belongs to them.
The lead actress Charlene An said that the "starting over" brought by this film is not a distant concept, as everyone might go through a time in their life that requires them to start over. She hopes that the audience can feel a connection with the choices, emotions, and experiences of the characters, and is also looking forward to the moment the film officially meets the audience so that people can go to the cinema to support the work.
Yuan Teng introduced himself as the actor playing the character "Ah Fai" in this film and expressed his excitement to see the character officially introduced to the audience. The actor playing the antagonist on set also shared about his character in a more relaxed manner, joking that because there is someone in the story who creates difficulties, the other characters are driven to work harder, thereby making the conflicts and relationships between the characters more apparent.
Eelin Ooi further stated that whether they are stream hosts, content creators, or other individuals interested in entering the film industry, as long as they have a passion for acting and creation, they can follow film projects, short dramas, and other projects from this team in the future.
