TV AlHijrah is strengthening its digital content strategy with the introduction of four new productions that combine Islamic values, humanity and creative storytelling to cater to the preferences of today’s viewers.
The four productions comprise two telefilms and two drama series — 'Bersuara Tapi Tak Didengar, Mistik Bilik Mayat, Ghost Buskers and Azan Terakhir Seorang Banduan'.
All four productions will first be offered as premium content on the AlHijrah Plus (AH+) streaming platform before being broadcast on the TV AlHijrah channel a week later. The approach reflects the station’s efforts to expand the reach of Islamic content through digital platforms.
TV AlHijrah Chief Operating Officer, Nadzariah Mohamed, said each production underwent a screening process by the station’s Shariah advisory panel to ensure the content remains aligned with TV AlHijrah’s objective of providing ethical entertainment without compromising storytelling quality.
She said the approach demonstrates that Islamic and Shariah-compliant productions can be presented in a fresher format while appealing to a wider audience, particularly younger viewers.
Among the productions introduced is 'Bersuara Tapi Tak Didengar', a 120-minute telefilm directed by Heykal Hanifah, which tells the story of a young lawyer facing challenges due to Tourette syndrome.
Starring Nafiz Muaz, Rusdi Ramli and Datuk Hilal Azman, the production explores issues surrounding challenges, justice and social acceptance.
Meanwhile, 'Mistik Bilik Mayat' delves into the mystery genre through an eight-episode drama series directed by Rashid Sibir.
The production explores themes surrounding death and mystical beliefs from an Islamic perspective, featuring actors including Khir Rahman, Siti Elizad, Omar Abdullah and Datuk Fauziah Nawi.
A different concept is offered through 'Ghost Buskers', a drama series combining elements of nasyid, Islamic preaching, ruqyah and paranormal investigations within a Shariah-compliant framework.
Produced by Sha’s Media and directed by Eoon Shuhaini, the series features nasyid group UNIC alongside Nabila Razali, Sharifah Rose and Jazmy Juma.
Completing the line-up is 'Azan Terakhir Seorang Banduan', directed by Jamal Khan, which follows the journey of a reformed former prisoner seeking inner peace and an opportunity to start a new chapter in life. The telefilm stars Redza Rosli, Rosnah Johari, Zaidi Omar and Amir Khan.
TV AlHijrah Senior Manager of the Content Department, Zulkarnaen Mokhtar, said the production of the four titles forms part of the station’s strategy to provide local audiences with alternative fiction content centred on Islamic values.
He said dramas are not merely a form of entertainment, but can also serve as a platform for viewers to understand the realities of life through issues such as prejudice, justice, faith, repentance and second chances.
With a refreshed AH+ platform and the support of more than 300,000 followers, TV AlHijrah is optimistic about further developing the Islamic digital broadcasting ecosystem and expanding the production of creative content that remains relevant to the needs of today’s viewers.
