Hannan Medispa has contributed medical equipment worth RM282,400 to five public hospitals nationwide as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, which the company describes as a long-term commitment rather than a one-off initiative.
The contributions, involving hospitals across four states, cover several critical areas of care, including neonatal, renal, surgical and maternal healthcare.
Hospital Queen Elizabeth in Sabah received the largest allocation worth RM81,000, comprising a 3D Monitor, PCA Pump and BeneVision Patient Monitor.
Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) received two neonatal incubators valued at RM80,000, while Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZ II) received a haemodialysis machine worth RM44,900.
Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Muar received a Takagi (Japan) Slit Lamp 700 GL valued at RM43,500, while Hospital Besut received an F15 Fetal & Maternal Monitor worth RM33,000.
The contributions are part of Hannan Medispa’s broader CSR framework, which focuses on three key pillars — education, healthcare and public welfare.
“We measure the return on this differently from the rest of the business. The return here is clinical capacity, and that shows up in patient outcomes rather than in a quarterly statement,” said Hannan Medispa chief executive officer Dr Hannan.
The company said medical equipment was chosen as the primary form of contribution as it could provide sustained benefits to public healthcare facilities.
According to the company, equipment such as incubators and dialysis machines can continue serving patients for several years, allowing the impact of each ringgit invested to extend well beyond the initial handover.
Hannan Medispa said further initiatives involving healthcare, education and community welfare are in the pipeline, with healthcare remaining its primary CSR focus.
