TOKYO: Typhoon Krovanh, also known as Typhoon No. 24, continues moving northwest toward Okinawa Prefecture and Amami Oshima island in Kagoshima Prefecture as of 9am on Wednesday (Sept 2), according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
Its central atmospheric pressure was 996 hectopascals, with a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 25 meters per second (90 kph).
It is expected to approach to Amami Oshima island around Friday, upon which it is predicted to turn back toward the south of Japan. - The Yomiuri Shimbun
