Japan PM Takaichi says traditional Chinese herbal medicine led to better sleep

TOKYO: Ken Namikawa, mayor of Tenri, Nara Prefecture, said Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi (pic) told him at their meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday (Aug 24) that she has been able to sleep better due to a beverage containing traditional Chinese herbal medicine.

Tenri is located in Takaichi’s home constituency. According to Namikawa, the prime minister said that she drinks the beverage, which is made in the prefecture, before going to bed.

Last month, Takaichi posted on social media that “getting zero to three hours of sleep has become the norm since taking office,” and it created a buzz. - The Japan News/ANN
