HANOI: A Russian female tourist was killed and another person injured in a traffic accident in Vietnam's southern province of Lam Dong early Saturday morning (Aug 15), local daily VnExpress reported.
The accident occurred at around 2:15 a.m. local time when a passenger bus carrying 18 foreign tourists crashed into the rear of a truck on the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay expressway, said the report.
The bus was traveling southbound from Nha Trang city to Ho Chi Minh City. The bus driver told authorities that he had been driving while drowsy. Initial findings indicated that he had failed to pay adequate attention, leading to the crash.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident. - Xinhua
