TOKYO:Typhoon Chan-hom — also known as Typhoon No. 15 — was moving northwest, towards Japan’s Pacific coast, at 15 kph at 9 a.m. on Monday, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
The typhoon’s current central atmospheric pressure is evaluated at 990 hectopascals, with a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 108 kph.
Chan-hom is expected to approach Japan’s main island on Tuesday morning and cross through the Kanto-Tohoku region, reaching the Sea of Japan on Wednesday morning. - Japan News/ANN
