NEW DELHI: A trainer aircraft crash landed at the Baramati airport in Maharashtra’s Pune on Sunday (Aug 9) afternoon.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which took place at around 12.35pm within the airport premises, a short distance from the runway, IANS reported.
The aircraft operated by a private company suffered minor damage in the incident.
This comes nearly seven months after then Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others died when their Learjet 45 aircraft crashed near Baramati airport.
Pawar was travelling in the VSR Ventures-owned aircraft and was accompanied by his personal security officer, an attendant and two cockpit crew members.
The aircraft was being operated by pilot-in-command Sumit Kapur and first officer Shambhavi Pathak.
It crashed during its second attempt to land at Baramati airport on Jan 28. - The Statesman/ANN
