Japanese police arrest school instructor over possession of child pornography


TOKYO: Police have arrested a public elementary school instructor residing in Tsu City on suspicion of possessing child pornography.

The man, 38, was arrested by Mie Prefectural Police on Thursday (July 30) based on information provided by US non-profit organisation The National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, known as NCMEC.

Police said that the man is suspected of possessing a laptop that contained 10 explicit images of girls under the age of 18.

He reportedly admitted to the charges during questioning, stating, “That is correct.” - The Yomiuri Shimbun
