ULAANBAATAR: Prime Minister Nyam-Osoryn Uchral (pic) announced Thursday (Aug 6) that the government is introducing austerity measures at all levels in response to the global geopolitical situation and growing international uncertainty.
As part of the decision, certain government expenditures and funding will be suspended.
“All events, including regional conferences, sectoral conferences, forums and meetings, will be cancelled. No official overseas travel will be permitted without government approval," he noted.
"Any essential meetings or conferences should be held online whenever possible. The budget saved through these measures will be redirected toward winter preparedness, energy and fuel supplies, and other essential activities that directly support the lives and well-being of citizens”, the Prime Minister said. - Go Go Mongolia/ANN
