HANOI (Reuters): Vietnam's State Treasury raised 7.1 trillion dong ($270 million) in its weekly government bond auction on Wednesday, up from $251 million raised last week.
The uptake was also higher, with 55% of the bonds on offer sold, compared with 50% last week, according to a Hanoi Stock Exchange filing.
* The treasury sold 3.2 trillion dong out of the 4 trillion dong of 5-year bonds on offer, at a coupon of 4.22%.
* It sold 3.4 trillion dong out of the 7 trillion dong of 10-year bonds on offer, at a coupon of 4.38%.
* It sold 500 billion dong out of 1 trillion dong of 15-year bonds on offer, at a coupon of 4.55%.
* It failed to offload any of the combined 1 trillion dong of 3-year and 30-year bonds on offer.
* The government aims to raise 500 trillion dong from bond sales this year. So far it has raised over 197 trillion dong.
* Vietnamese companies have raised 290 trillion dong via bonds this year up to July 31, according to bond market association data.
* The total value of corporate bonds maturing during the remainder of this year is 106 trillion dong.
