MANILA: A magnitude 4 earthquake jolted the Southern Leyte town on Monday morning (Aug 3), the state seismologists reported.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the earthquake, which was tectonic of origin, occurred around 6:22 a.m.
Its epicentre was located 14 kilometres south-east of Sogod, Southern Leyte, with a depth of 10 kilometres.
Instrumental intensities were recorded in the following areas:
Intensity III – Sogod, Southern Leyte
Intensity II – Mahaplag, Leyte; Malitbog, San Francisco, Southern Leyte
Intensity I – Hilongos, Abuyog, Leyte
