LAHORE: The provincial government on Saturday appointed Irfan Sadiq Tarar as the Prosecutor General of Punjab.
The post had fallen vacant following Farhad Ali Shah's nomination as an additional judge of the Lahore High Court.
The Punjab government issued a formal notification appointing Tarar as Prosecutor General under Section 6 of the Punjab Criminal Prosecution Service Act 2006 for a period of three years.
Affiliated with the Ahsan Bhoon-led Independent group, Tarar previously served as vice chairman of the Punjab Bar Council and vice president of the Lahore Bar Association. - The Dawn/ANN
