Dubai-Mumbai flight makes emergency landing in India's Gujarat after smoke detected in cargo area


NEW DELHI (Xinhua): A Dubai-Mumbai flight of India's private airline company IndiGo made an emergency landing in the country's western state of Gujarat on Monday after smoke was detected midair in its cargo area.

The Airbus A321 aircraft bearing number IGO1452 and learned to be the Indigo Airlines was diverted to the Rajkot airport and successfully landed there under full emergency conditions. All passengers and crew members were safe, confirmed Airport Director Diganta Borah.

As per the latest reports, the flight's electrical systems were being checked. The flight was scheduled to depart for Mumbai.  -- Xinhua
