Myanmar exports over 370,000 tonnes of fruits, vegetables in FY 2025-26

YANGON: Myanmar exported over 370,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables in the 2025-26 fiscal year, generating about US$220 million, according to the Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association on Wednesday (July 22).

During the period, tissue-cultured bananas and watermelons accounted for the largest export volumes among the exported products, Pyaethar San, secretary of the association, told Xinhua.

Myanmar's fruits and vegetables are exported to China, Thailand, Russia, Singapore, Japan and Malaysia, he said.

The association aims to export more than 600,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables in the 2026-27 fiscal year, he said.

To improve the prospects of Myanmar's fruit and vegetable industry, the association is promoting the development of new export products and working to help export commodities achieve their targeted export volumes, said the official. - Xinhua
