Retirement is one of life's most significant milestones, yet for many Malaysians, planning for it often begins too late.
To inspire a shift in mindset and encourage Malaysians to take charge of their financial future from an early age, the Private Pension Administrator (PPA) proudly launches the inaugural Hari PRS, a first-of-its-kind public initiative dedicated to promoting retirement planning, financial literacy and long-term financial well-being.
Held under the theme "Retire Happy When Ready, Jom PRS!", Hari PRS takes place on 11 and 12 July 2026, from 10am to 10pm, at the Ground Floor Flash Retail Area, MyTOWN Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur. Admission is free, with members of the public invited to walk in and experience an engaging weekend of learning, discovery and financial empowerment.
More than just an exhibition, Hari PRS represents the beginning of a nationwide effort to foster a stronger culture of retirement preparedness. It reflects PPA's commitment to making retirement planning more accessible, relatable and relevant to Malaysians at every stage of life—from young professionals starting their first jobs to families planning their financial future and individuals preparing for retirement.
The launch comes at a time when awareness of retirement planning is steadily growing. As at 31 December 2025, Malaysia's Private Retirement Scheme (PRS) had 671,736 members and RM8.8 billion in assets under management, while member contributions reached approximately RM1 billion in 2025 alone.
These milestones reflect increasing confidence in PRS as an important complement to existing retirement savings, while underscoring the continued need to encourage more Malaysians to begin planning earlier.

Hari PRS seeks to address this challenge by creating a welcoming and interactive platform where financial education meets practical action. Through meaningful conversations, expert guidance and engaging experiences, visitors will discover that preparing for retirement does not require significant wealth—it simply requires starting early and staying consistent.
Across the two-day programme, visitors can look forward to seven PRS Providers + one PRS Distributor coming together under one roof, giving visitors the unique opportunity to compare retirement solutions, receive personalised guidance and better understand how PRS can support
their long-term financial aspirations.
Visitors can enjoy a comprehensive programme of activities throughout the two-day event, including: Meeting seven PRS Providers + one PRS Distributor in one convenient location; Opening a PRS account on-site; Retirement planning and financial planning consultations; Complimentary health screening; Financial literacy workshops and expert sharing sessions; Interactive stage activities and live entertainment; Lucky Draws and Spin & Win opportunities; Children's activities for the whole family; Complimentary gifts and exclusive event promotions.
Designed as an experience for the whole family, Hari PRS transforms retirement planning into an engaging and approachable journey, encouraging visitors to make informed financial decisions while enjoying an exciting day out.
Approximately 5,000 visitors are expected across the two-day event, making Hari PRS one of the largest public engagement initiatives dedicated exclusively to retirement planning and financial education in Malaysia.
Taufiq Iskandar, Chief Executive Officer of the Private Pension Administrator (PPA), said: "Retirement planning is one of the most important financial decisions a person will make, yet it is often postponed until it feels urgent. Through Hari PRS, we want to change that mindset by
making retirement planning simple, accessible and relevant for every Malaysian.
"Retirement planning is not about preparing for the final chapter of our working lives—it is about creating the freedom and confidence to enjoy the years ahead. Every contribution made today, regardless of its size, is an investment in tomorrow's peace of mind. Hari PRS reflects our commitment to making retirement planning more accessible, engaging and meaningful for every Malaysian.
"We hope this inaugural event inspires more people to start early, ask questions, seek professional guidance and take practical steps towards building a secure financial future. This is only the beginning, and we look forward to growing Hari PRS into a signature annual platform that strengthens retirement awareness across the nation."
As the first edition of what PPA envisions as an annual flagship initiative, Hari PRS celebrates the growing PRS community while reinforcing a simple yet powerful message: the best time to start planning for retirement is today.
PPA invites all Malaysians to visit Hari PRS on July 11 and 12, 2026, at MyTOWN Shopping Centre and discover how small actions today can create greater financial confidence for tomorrow.
