Korean heartthrob XIA ends Malaysia's long wait with an unforgettable 2.5-hour solo concert at Zepp KL

KUALA LUMPUR: After years of anticipation, South Korean singer and musical actor XIA (Kim Junsu) finally returned to Malaysia with his XIA 6TH ASIA TOUR CONCERT ‘GRAVITY’ at Zepp Kuala Lumpur, marking not only his long-awaited comeback but also his first-ever solo concert in the country.

Delivering an electrifying and emotionally charged two-and-a-half-hour performance in near-full-house capacity, XIA captivated fans from start to finish, creating an unforgettable night filled with powerful music, heartfelt moments, and memories to be cherished for years to come.

From the moment he opened the show with "Beat's Knockin" and "eXtreme Love", the atmosphere inside the venue erupted with excitement. Throughout the night, XIA demonstrated his remarkable artistry and versatility with a carefully curated setlist featuring "HANA", "Pit A Pat", "Forest of Memories", "My Night", "Slowly", "Homage", "Reach", "Red Diamond", "XIAHTIC", "ROCK THE WORLD", "GRAVITY", and "INCREDIBLE", effortlessly transitioning between powerful dance performances and moving ballads.

A standout moment of the evening was his performance of "GRAVITY", the title track of his latest full-length album. XIA shared that although fans may have listened to some of these songs online, this concert marked the first time he was able to perform them live in a solo concert setting. Every song had been thoughtfully selected to make the evening especially meaningful for his Malaysian fans.

Beyond the spectacular performances, it was XIA's genuine warmth and exceptional fan service that made the night truly unforgettable. The singer transformed the concert into an intimate gathering, constantly interacting with fans and enthusiastically responding to their spontaneous requests. He delighted the audience by dancing to the legendary hit “Mirotic”, bringing his beloved musical characters to life on stage, and even singing an impromptu request while reading the lyrics from a fan's mobile phone, prompting deafening cheers throughout the venue.

The evening also revealed XIA's softer, appreciative side. He was visibly touched upon seeing the Malaysian snacks and gifts thoughtfully prepared by fans and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering support. To the delight of the audience, he shared his love for durian and hoped to enjoy the iconic Malaysian fruit before returning to Korea.

As one of Korea's most respected musical actors, XIA also reflected on his journey beyond music. While he admitted that pursuing musical theatre has been both demanding and challenging, he credited the continuous love and support from fans for giving him the strength to persevere and achieve new milestones, including receiving critical acclaim and awards for his performance in Beetlejuice.

The emotional peak of the night arrived when fans surprised him with a specially produced appreciation video and handmade gifts prepared exclusively for him. Deeply moved by the gesture, XIA thanked fans for their years of support and expressed his sincere hope to return to Malaysia again in the future.

More than just a concert, the evening was a long-awaited reunion between an artist and the fans who have stood by him throughout the years. Through an extraordinary two-and-a-half-hour performance filled with outstanding music, spontaneous moments, and heartfelt exchanges, XIA not only delivered an unforgettable show but also reaffirmed the special bond he shares with Malaysian fans—making his first solo concert in Malaysia a night that will be remembered long after the final encore.

Following the successful Kuala Lumpur show, XIA will continue his GRAVITY Asia tour with upcoming stops in Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, and Singapore, bringing the powerful experience of GRAVITY to fans across the region.
